HTC Evo Review

By

Its 2011 now. But by the end of 2010, I had owned 5 other phones that year and this is by far in my top 3 for favorite phones, ever. I love it ! Probably because its just like the HTC Droid Incredible which is my all time favorite. I'm a cell phone geek and get bored easy soo finding something I really like is hard. I dont plan on giving this phone up anytime soon.

At first i was so turned off by the Evo because like i said, its just like the Incredible and i was soo headsprung off the Incredible i didnt think anything could be better. It was just a BIGGER version. I have smaller hands.. what did i need a super huge phone for? At the time, I didnt. and i wasnt about to let go of my incredible, cuz it truly was Incredible. But i got bored with it, and i dont know why because the day after i sold it , i missed it lol . I went to the Samsung Fascinate, and i hated it. I had a custom color and bought it full retail, which is probably why i hated it so much. I eventually gave up on Verizon, they are TOO high and went to Sprint. and went through 2 other phones in one week before I gave up my struggle against the Evo and let it condemn me. (sounds horrible)

From the beginning it was lovee ! I got the white color and actually loved the size. The fascinate was about the same size and i was so used to it , and the other two sprint phones I had were tiny and I hated it. It was just like Incredible (which i miss dearly lol) so it was super easy to cope. Easily connected to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr ... and whatever else. The HTC UI (user interface) is super easy to get used to plus i love it, its simple enough for Android Beginners and makes even the Experienced Android user shiver a little.

Being an android phone, it really is the same throughout all devices. Its more so the interface and features that make it different. The Evo of course has it size. And then the double cameras and kickstand. Easy use for video-chat, just prop up the kickstand and FACE TIME. Skype and Oovoo mobile, plus the Qik app (comes preinstalled on phone) are all excellent. The HTC interface like I said before is probably the best of all Manufacturers thus far. I've had HTC, Samsung, and LG and HTC beat the others without question. As of today there is no phone that can top the Evo (in my eyes).

However, Sprint newly released the HTC Evo Shift which is smaller version of the Evo with (drum roll), a keyboard. Its hardly impressive. Losing both the front facing camera and the kickstand, it also lost a lot of flair. Just like the original Droid has the D-pad, a pointless ' trackball ' sort of thing , the shift copied this and it still remains pointless. Why put a trackpad on a touch screen phone? I dont understand either. Besides being a samsung, the Samsung Epic is by far better than the Shift. And with that said the Shift shifts the Evo branding down a little.

I got around to looking up how to unlock or root the phone. Making it more entertaining to me. I rooted it and noticed last night that I can now talk on the phone and be on the internet. I honestly dont know if this is because I had wifi enabled but it surprised me and now i love the phone even more.

Sooo if you're considering getting an HTC Evo then GET IT . It is only a little less than extravagant.
